Happy Song List 10/02/2016 =

This was the first three songs I got up to today. I have had a Happy List on my smart phone for several years now but have to admit it was Pam Grout in E:Cubed that reminded me to wake up to a ‘Happy’ song and do the ‘Happy Dance’ first thing in the am.

Number 1. = Nina Simone – Feeling Good

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me. We get to start a new life every morning if we don’t currently particularly like what it is looking like (flip it, switch it)

Imagine how good it felt making the bed whilst this was playing but please don’t imagine the what I looked like strutting around to it. Ooops popped that one in there like don’t think about about Pink Elephants. There its’ OK now you have pink elephants running around in your head (ouch).

Number 2. = Ultra Nate – Free

Your free to do what you want to do. You have to live your life and do what you want to do. What are you doing today to make that change? No shoulda, woulda, coulda’s please.

McFly – Star Girl

In my previous job a UK DJ, Chris Evans who is virtually the same age as me bar a few days so a big one coming soon a Chris !! Plays this on a Friday morning and I used to hear it on my commute but now I don’t hear it so I bought it. Some serious car dancing has gone down to this one (not to mention some very serious looks from other commuters but who cares, probably never see them again is my theory) but this morning it was some crazy kitchen ‘Happy’ dancing going down so saved the commuters that one

I’d love to know what your “Happy Play List’ is or if you haven’t got one, what would you put on it.

I Feel a shift 2

A few months ago I wrote the blog post “I Feel a Shift” because I had started to notice a happiness habit-forming despite of all the usual negative media we are bombarded with and asked the question was anyone else seeing too?

I was seeing adverts on TV with a more positive slant. One showing people carrying out Random Acts of Kindness that was having a chain reaction.

Talking of Random Acts of Kindness I watched Evan Almighty again and the weekend and for many of a year I have planned to have everyone do the dance at my funeral before they leave the venue so they leave on a High, as well as play Louis Armstrong’s ‘Wonderful World ‘ and Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’.

A couple of days ago I learnt I must confess from one of my favourite past times … Reading Pam Grouts Blog about women from my country but not county unfortunately or I would shake her hand was requesting her followers retweet the idea that we are seeing more good news and getting the idea we should love our enemy. The the other bit of information gained from the fabulous Ms Grout was that this lady had tweeted about a former anti-Muslimist who went to his local Mosque to apologize. I clicked on the Huff Post article and reading it made my heart want to burst with happiness.

It’s easy to feel happy about things and people we love but not so easy about things we don’t like and people we don’t love (No SxxT Sherlock! I hear you cry) but the other day reading more about Epigenetic’s and how negative thinking can have a harmful effect on our bodies I  knew it was in my best interests to love even my enemy.

I also read recently (I read a hell of a lot, it is my passion and it was probably by Ms Grout  but I have read so much by so many I lose track,) some advise that when someone is annoying you, unpleasant etc say silently inside “Bless You”. Well reading this fitted right in with my loving my enemy help myself philosophy because when someone is unpleasant I just remember to say “Bless You” followed by their name.

Shortly after gaining the information that other people are sharing the, or encouraging the Happiness Habit I watch on TV a British Celebrity discussing the sequence of events that led him to write a book containing short funny poems and until the “Sequence of Events” or the Universe doing what it does best he had never written a poem before in his life and his motive was to make people happy because as he said in his words “There appears to be a lot of not so nice things going on in the world and we seem to forget that there ‘IS’ things to be happy about and we spend so much time worrying about things that aren’t even going to happen, I just wanted to make people smile and have a little bit of happiness”

Well after shouting a loud “Yes” at the TV I felt inspired to write a post about the “obvious growing” shift in happiness and just as I consciously made the decision I saw my phone light up. I’d been tagged in a post by my daughter. When I investigated she had nominated me in something that must be going around on social network, to upload 5 photo’s that make you happy.

Yep there is definitely a Shift happening

Manafactured Happiness

In the practice of “Growing a Greater me” (See Greg Kuhn books) and from advise from many, many, many books I have read, when I wake before I even open my eyes or even contemplate getting out of bed I say things (in my head) like ‘Today is going to be the best day of my life’ or ‘Thank you for such and amazing day’. I also give thanks for random things that pop in my head but another practice I have been doing more and more is sending LOVE out into the Universe particular anyone that tends to make my life more complicated than it needs be. Instead of getting frustrated or anxious about them or my day, I send the particular individuals LOVE, then everyone, then everything, trees, birds, plants etc and then the whole flipping Universe and talking of flipping, if my friends and family read this they would think I’ve flipped, but do I care?

Do I flipping eck’s as  like !! (English colloquialism meaning NO !!”)

Shortly after claiming today is the best day of my life as I snoozed the alarm on my phone I caught sight of an email saying good news about my lottery ticket, so there you go see not even stepped out of bed and it’s great. However my partner on the other hand sat on the edge of the bed and mumbled about how much he hated having to get out of bed. Me in my secret happiness (not knowing if we were millionaires, but being grateful if it was £2) said “That’s not very half glass full from Mr always Half glass full type of person” he replied “I don’t feel like being a half glass full person today”. Whilst he was in the bathroom and deciding not to be deterred from my happiness I went to my music player on my phone and found Nina Simone “Feeling Good” and pressed play. He poked his head out of the bathroom and looked around for the sound and shook his head at me in mock? disapproval as I made the bed ‘Happily’ but as the tunes continued to play his mood improved and made me laugh hysterically with his dancing to Curtis Mayfield ‘Move on Up‘ and he left the house in a decidedly better mood than when he woke.

The other day I came across the statement ‘Damaged Souls’ and I thought, NO soul is damaged, all souls are perfect, there are only ‘Disconnected Souls’. This helped me with people I found challenging. To look at them differently, know that behind the disconnectedness their formless part, the real, largest part of them, the 99.99% of who they and we ALL are is perfect.

Earlier I read a bit of Wayne DyerYou’ll See it When You Believe IT” (revisiting old material) about some suggestions for personal transformation and the first recommendation was – Try to see yourself and others in formless ways and another suggestion was – Observe how others destroy their potential for happiness and success because they identify exclusively with their form. Completely reiterating my feelings the other day.

When I came home I saw a perfect example of this and thought how or I wish I could help this person. They are having a really unpleasant time at the moment which they are cataloging on Face book day after day, and day after day the negative situations are snowballing as they focus only on these unpleasant events, they are completely unaware in line with The Law of Attraction they are self perpetuating their own circumstances. I honestly don’t know I could help as I feel they would not accept this if I spelt it out to them, so my only action at present was to post positive quotes via my wall in hope that they will be struck by one, or more.

I then saw a long post by the formidable Wayne Dyer about a book he had recently ‘Felt’ and been invited to write the forward too. I have blatantly what would be in Face book terms, Fraped the post but it related so much to my mood. The book is called “Nurturing Healing Love” http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/140194423X/hayhousecom-20 but as it stated in the post that a portion of the proceeds go to a good cause I Am sure he won’t mind. This quote from Jesus struck me: “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Thinking about it I ‘FEEL’ so much better with my life as is stands today via always aiming to ‘Grow a better ME !!’ and sending LOVE where there could be darkness. Sometimes you have to just manufacture your own happiness and in the words of  Saint Francis of Assisi via Wayne Dyer in his amazing Face book post “Where there is darkness, let me bring light.”
