Happy Song List 15/02/2016 –

To say the first 3 songs that come out of my happy play list in the morning are eclectic is an understatement but I think today is right up there. Enjoy.

No. 1 = Chuck Berry – You Never Can Tell

I have thrown in the video from Pulp Fiction as this is where I first heard this song. There are other parts of the film that I don’t wish to re-watch but when ever I went out on a night out I always tried to get the DJ to play this song as it always got people throwing shapes and raising the energy in the room.

No2. = Eliza Doolittle – Pack Up

This song helps when the world tries to creep in and bother my vibe and it reminds me like the many Law of Attraction books I have read that tell me that we don’t have to accept what seems real and not to buy into the negative doom and gloom press. We can tip toe around all the shit going down and make our own positive reality.

No. 2 = Irene Cara – Flashdance What A Feeling

Woah, thank you Universe. This one gets me every time. This is a real lyric song for me. Not just a Happy vibe song. How many of us have slow glowing dreams that we hide deep inside and pretend they don’t matter or we don’t care because the fear of what might be stops us from even starting.

If you haven’t got this song in some format google it or YouTube it and don’t tell me it won’t make you want to dance through your life and make you passion happen.

You really can have it all. What a Feeling that is.

Happy Song List 13/02/2016 –

Today is a bit of chilled happy sandwich. When the first song came up it made it hard to get out of bed. I just wanted to wallow in the melody and then number two instigated some bed dancing (stop it) and then I was back to feeling chilled. I got up feeling I had been wrapped in a nice cosy happy blanket. Not a bad feeling to start a Saturday with.

The songs that came after were whoppers and I was thinking to myself I wish I could share these as well because I would love other people to be reminded that there are so many great tunes in our groovy world but they will probably be in the top three another day so here’s todays top Happy Music.

No. = Andy Williams = Impossible Dream

This is the second song I ever downloaded when songs became downloadable (number one is on my Happy List and probably will come up someday soon and they have something in common. I want them both played at my funeral). It just always inspires me to keep on keeping on when it has felt overwhelming. I have dreams and goals as hope we all do and I accept I might not achieve them all and I might not want to when my aspirations change but they will always be replaced with new ones and this song makes me feel that when I get to that day when I get to go home that my quest was to keep following that star …..

No.2 = Curtis Mayfield – Move on Up

I have sent this song to friends when they are having a tough time just because I think it is a great song and always helps me get back on track and remind me my dreams are my only scheme.

No 3. = Will Smith – Summertime

Not much to say about this (sorry Will) its just a groove to sooth the mood and makes me feel Happy and it’s my all time favourite summer song.

Have a great weekend and make sure you take some time to find something that sooth’s your mood.

Happy Song List 12/02/2016

This may seem an odd ‘Happy Song List’ but as I have mentioned it previously it is random. I just let it play it self out. The most often my partner and I listen to music together is in the car and he listens to the radio all day in his job and quite often when we hear the most recent releases on the car stereo we like the same songs. If I had a pound for every time I say “Yeah I love this too, I love the lyric …….” and he replies that he hasn’t heard that. He’s a melody person and I am definitely a words in the melody person. I believe songs have messages and we can tend to hear them at the most opportune moment.

One that may come up soon (if knowing the Universe as I do, probably tomorrow) was always on or came on the car radio when I was having a particular hard time and only just learning about the Law of Attraction and that we attract our own reality. It always pulled me through and that is the general feel of these songs that came out today. Two of them have been in my life for more years than I care to remember and again long before LOA -(particularly No. 2).

No 1. = OneRepublic – Counting Stars

Obviously ‘Counting Stars’ is the most recent and it always came on in the car on the way to work and the lyric about feeling so right doing the wrong thing resonated to me as all my life I have felt I never fitted in with societies norm. I couldn’t help it, I didn’t choose it but world view 1.0 (read Pam Grout) didn’t float my boat but world view 2.0 is making me feel really at home. The more I see on the internet the evidence what you and I already know coming into the public domain I am like a new born puppy and have to be careful I don’t have an accident like an excited puppy and on that note and changing the subject ‘In my face there are flashing signs “Seek it out and ye shall find” reminds me that the Universe is helping us 24/7.

No 2. = Armand Van Heldon – U don’t know me

Bit of an aggressive happy song this but relates to not feeling like fitting in I suppose. I guess we can all relate to other people at times being jealous or judgemental or feeling we should do this, not that or do it their way as they believe their way is right but your gut is screaming ‘Nooooooo’ and you don’t know why you can’t see it from their perspective but when you go your way they can become unkind. This used be confuse me and make my head hurt so I used to play this song and dance my little tooshie off and I always felt better afterwards. I must admit since hearing about The Law of Attraction my head doesn’t hurt now as I don’t attract those situations so this song is pretty much redundant but still good to dance to.

No 3. = McFadden & Whitehead – Ain’t No Stopping us Now

The Universe is so darn clever because Armand Van Heldon and McFadden & Whitehead always went hand it hand so pick it as one todays three is genius. When people or life could seem unkind this always got my groove on. Don’t you let nothing, nothing stand in your way cos there ain’t no stopping us now. It’s taken a long time (more or less a 100 years of understanding quantum mechanics) but finally we’re on the move.

Don’t try to stop us cos we aren’t buying those negative vibes. We’re leaving them far behind.

Happy Song List 11/02/2016 =

My play lists that I have started adding are literally the first 3 songs that come up on my smart phone when I flip that little flippy thing you can do from the bottom of the screen and I press play and see what comes up. I let more play as I am making the coffee etc but thought the top three is enough to post. What are your “Happy Songs” that you start the day with or what is the sound track of your life?

Number 1. =Usher  – Pop Ya Collar

Don’t let any one steal your crown or as I see it take your power today. You can eat it or throw it away. My advise throw it away.

No. 2 = Pharrell Williams  – Happy

Just a classic. To me it never gets tiring. I can’t fail to be Happy when I hear this ….. or dance

No. 3 = Jimmy James & The Vagabonds – I’ll Go Where The Music Takes Me

Where ever you go or going today remember to do it to your own music or as Wayne Dyer would have said ‘Dance to the beat of your own drum’. I know the more authentic I am being to me and when I tap in to the power that is in me and within all of us everything just glides across the dance floor of life effortlessly like Fred Astaire

Happy Song List 10/02/2016 =

This was the first three songs I got up to today. I have had a Happy List on my smart phone for several years now but have to admit it was Pam Grout in E:Cubed that reminded me to wake up to a ‘Happy’ song and do the ‘Happy Dance’ first thing in the am.

Number 1. = Nina Simone – Feeling Good

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me. We get to start a new life every morning if we don’t currently particularly like what it is looking like (flip it, switch it)

Imagine how good it felt making the bed whilst this was playing but please don’t imagine the what I looked like strutting around to it. Ooops popped that one in there like don’t think about about Pink Elephants. There its’ OK now you have pink elephants running around in your head (ouch).

Number 2. = Ultra Nate – Free

Your free to do what you want to do. You have to live your life and do what you want to do. What are you doing today to make that change? No shoulda, woulda, coulda’s please.

McFly – Star Girl

In my previous job a UK DJ, Chris Evans who is virtually the same age as me bar a few days so a big one coming soon a Chris !! Plays this on a Friday morning and I used to hear it on my commute but now I don’t hear it so I bought it. Some serious car dancing has gone down to this one (not to mention some very serious looks from other commuters but who cares, probably never see them again is my theory) but this morning it was some crazy kitchen ‘Happy’ dancing going down so saved the commuters that one

I’d love to know what your “Happy Play List’ is or if you haven’t got one, what would you put on it.
