There are moments in life that feel small on the surface… but inside, something shifts.

A sentence.
A conversation.
A glance.
A feeling.

And then — almost quietly — your entire reality pivots.

This is the story of one of those moments for me.
A moment that shook me, awakened me, and changed the direction of my business and my mission forever.

It didn’t come during a coaching session or a big life event.
It didn’t arrive during meditation or journaling.

It happened while listening to a podcast.

The Sentence That Stopped Me in My Tracks

I was half-listening as I tidied up when the guest said something that made my whole body freeze.

He said:

“We only go into the black because of Black Friday.”

I actually paused the episode.
Not because it was profound…
but because it terrified me.

And then, almost instantly, something inside whispered:

“You know this feeling.
You’ve lived this.”

That’s when the memory washed over me.

Why That Comment Hit So Hard

The more I replayed the sentence in my mind, the more the fear settled in my chest.

Black Friday is one day.
Maybe one week if you stretch it.

But still — it’s the 11th month of the year.

Imagine relying on one tiny promotional window to pull you out of the red…
after surviving the previous ten or eleven months on fumes.

That isn’t freedom.
That isn’t security.
That isn’t a business model.

That is survival mode.

And the truth hit me straight in the gut:

I had lived that exact cycle myself.

The Truth About My Brick-and-Mortar Years

When I opened my brick-and-mortar business in my 50s, it felt like a dream.

Finally!
Entrepreneurship.
Creativity.
A business that was “mine.”

But the reality underneath?

I was:

• landlocked
• exhausted
• trading time for money
• capped by my physical energy
• completely reliant on Christmas sales

Christmas orders began in August, and from that moment until Christmas Eve, my life was a blur of:

• 5am starts
• 11pm finishes
• packing, wrapping, delivering
• posting on social media
• answering customer messages
• managing Etsy
• seven-day weeks

And while my customers saw a thriving “dream life,”
behind the scenes…
I was quietly crumbling.

By 4pm on Christmas Eve, the world was celebrating.
I wanted a dark room and silence.

And the Christmas money?
That had to carry me through January, February, March…

I wasn’t free.
I wasn’t thriving.
I was trapped.

A gilded cage is still a cage.

The Seed That Broke Through the Exhaustion

Somewhere in that fatigue, a thought planted itself.

A sentence I’d heard years earlier from Bob Proctor:

“Successful people have multiple streams of income.”

That stayed with me like a whisper I couldn’t unhear.

But the only “multiple streams” I ever saw growing up were people working two jobs…
not because they wanted freedom,
but because they couldn’t make ends meet.

No spaciousness.
No choice.
Just survival.

I knew—deeply—that something had to change.

Not just for me.
But for the women who began asking me how to start their own businesses.

Women who wanted to expand their side-hustles.
Women who wanted to leave their jobs and create something of their own.

But I couldn’t — with integrity — guide them into the same time trap I was drowning in.

Around this time, network marketing entered my world.
No matter what people think of the industry, it taught me three essential truths:

✨ You can create location freedom.
✨ You can create time freedom.
✨ You can create financial freedom.

And perhaps even more importantly:

There are other ways to make money — and multiple ways to build a life you love.

The Two Stories That Changed My Mission

Then one day, two moments happened back-to-back.

The first:

A cheerful supermarket worker talked lovingly about her cat, who needed a £1,000 treatment that insurance wouldn’t cover.
And she said—with a smile:

“It’s okay, I’ll just do more overtime and get another job.”

My heart cracked.

By then, I’d learned about Myron Golden’s Four Levels of Income, and I knew this woman — like so many — was trapped in the lowest level:
trading hours for money with no leverage.

The same day, I heard of a woman in her seventies still working a job she hated because she couldn’t afford to retire.

That wasn’t sad.
It was unacceptable.

And something fired up inside me.

I had already been on a mission to help women over 40 create online income through passion, purpose, and aligned action…

But now?

The mission became deeper.
More urgent.
More sacred.

No woman should reach the later years of her life still trapped in survival mode.
